WebbFilipino here. Yeah, typhoons are common occurrences in the Philippines. The only thing that makes this unusual is the flooding that it caused to Metropolitan Manila. Plus the fact that there were 5 consecutive typhoons (including one super typhoon) in the past 3 weeks. Metro Manila hasn't flooded like this since 2009, during Typhoon Ketsana.
